A1, A3 & A2 – Complete Open Category Drone Certifications
A1/A3:
- A1: Flying above few uninvolved people allowed; crowds not allowed. Flying above buildings allowed.
- Drones up to 900g with C0 or C1 labels.
- A3: No flying over or near uninvolved persons. Minimum 150m distance from people, buildings, industrial and recreational areas.
- Drones 4–25kg with C3 or C4 labels.
- Max altitude: 120m AGL.
- A1/A3 certification is required before A2.
A2:
- No flying over uninvolved people or crowds.
- Maintain minimum 30m distance, or 5m in low-speed mode.
- Flying above buildings allowed.
- Drones 900g–4kg with C2 label.
- Max altitude: 120m AGL.
Drones above 249 grams without a C identification label will fall into subcategory A1/A3
